Goddess Kali is the primal deity of the Dasa Maha Vidya. She wields a sword and holds the decapitated head of a demon in her left hand. On her right hand, she gives boons and exudes fearlessness. Her extended tongue denotes her bloodlust and hunger to put an end to evil blood. Her nakedness symbolizes pure feminine power (Shakti), which dominates the material existence.
